Challenge

Employees are the easiest target for cyber criminals. To ensure employees are practicing safe online behavior, the business launched a cyber security engagement platform.

The problems facing the product were a lack of user engagement and a limited understanding of cyber threats.

Process

  • Research: Found user needs, motivations, and cybersecurity knowledge.

  • Key Insights: Users had limited motivation, but wanted to learn about cyber security.

  • Re-design: Added gamified elements to motivate and educate users.

  • Collaboration: Worked with a UI designer and illustrator to produce the final vision within the system I designed.

Solution

  • Badges to reward users for progress and improvement.

  • Levels for users to track their own growth and compete with others

  • Streaks to encourage consistency and retention.

  • Prize Redemption to reward users for their effort and growth

Outcome

  • Badges launched: The business adopted my proposed badge concept, which rewarded users for engaging with cybersecurity learning activities.

  • An 18% Increase in User Engagement post-launch.
